Services & protocols during covid-19

INSTRUMENT AND BOW SALES

COVID-19 protocol for instrument and bow sales in our Chicago location:

  • Appointment is required — no walk-ins are accepted

  • Everyone must wear a mask

  • We ask that everyone maintains distance (e.g., no hand shaking, keeping our distance while indoors)

We are currently offering a 20% off sale on all of the instrument and bow inventory that we own (this offer does not apply to inventory we have on consignment). This includes all Paul Becker Violin instruments, as well as the other great instruments and bows we own.

Protocol for shipping instruments and bows for trials

1. Contact us with information about the type instrument or bow you are looking for, price range, and your desired sound.

2. Our representative will work with you to select some items that we believe would be a good fit for your needs.

3. Our representative will email you a 2 week Trial Agreement, which will require a signature and a valid ID.

4. Depending on your location, we can either ship the instruments via FedEx to you

Please call us at 312-220-9700 or email us at info@carlbeckerandson.com for any inquiries!

CONTACT FREE REPAIRS

In an effort to streamline our business and focus on crafting new instruments, we no longer have a repair shop. Our former shop manager, Jeremy Koons, is now our primary independent contractor for all repairs. Please contact him for your repair needs.

Jeremy will sometimes be available to meet with you at our shop. In that case, we ask that everyone follows this procedure

3. Your instrument will remain safely in our vault for at least 24 hours as a safety precaution.

4. On the next business day, after 24 hours after passed, you will get either call or email (based on your preference) detailing the repair work ,and quote you a price.

5. After written approval via email, we will conduct the repairs.

6. Once repairs are completed, we will call or email you to let you know.

7. Payment is required prior to pick up. To pay for the repair, you can provide credit card information securely over the phone.

8. The same protocol specified in step 2 will be followed when returning your instrument or bow.
